Piła is the largest city in the Norther Greater Poland region. The estimated time it takes to travel to Poznań or Bydgoszcz is about an hour. Piła`s sub-region consists of 400 thousand inhabitants and 34 thousands business entities. Piła is a city of the young. More than 60 % of the population is under 40. Our city is an academic center of the Northern Greater Poland region. Three Universities guarantee a qualified workforce. The main advantage of Piła`s universities is the possibility of adjusting the fields of study to fulfil the requirements of the job market.
Piła is a Leader of Investment Atractiveness (according to Forbes 2007, 2008). It was placed 16th in the country in the National Ranking for “Local Government for Stable Development” under the aegis of the TERAZ POLSKA Foundation. Piła is the most business-friendly city in the northwestern part of Poland. Ranking first in the Greater Poland region and twelfth in the whole country according to NEWSWEEK in 2012. And the The Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ) granted the city with the highest “A” grade for investment attractiveness. In 2012 Piła`s Investment Area was awarded by the Polish Agency of Information and Foreign Investments in the regional final of the competition “Grunt na medal 2010”
Piła has a wide offer of real estate for investment purposes. The local government caring for the development of the city, have created a Subzone for the Pomeranian Special Economic zone. Over 13 hectares are on offer. Locating the capital in the sub-region the investors are eligible to obtain an income tax exemption of up to 45 %. The city also offers other exemptions when it comes to the property tax or tax on means of transport.
